Lauren Pheeney Della Monica, a native of Cape Cod and Palm Beach, has spent over a decade training and working in the field of fine art and art law in New York. She brings to her business a wealth of client service experience as well as her knowledge of and passion for fine art.

Lauren has an extensive educational background in the arts as well as professional experience in all aspects of the art world, including the auction house, art gallery and art advisory businesses. Following graduation from Vanderbilt University, with a double major in Fine Arts and Spanish Literature, Lauren completed a professional program in art history and connoisseurship at Christie’s Education, New York, where she received her Royal Society of Arts Certificate. She gained invaluable, hands-on experience while working at a 57th Street American paintings gallery and at the Citibank Private Bank Art Advisory Service, where she assisted private clients with the purchase and sale of fine art and valued artwork for art loan portfolios. She also honed her visual design skills in the art department at Vogue Magazine, where she regularly worked with world famous photographers and expert designers.

As a complement to her fine arts training, Lauren received her juris doctorate degree from Brooklyn Law School. While in law school, Lauren worked as an intern in the General Counsel’s office at The Museum of Modern Art. Upon graduation, Lauren joined a prestigious New York law firm, where she practiced commercial litigation and art law for two years and earned a reputation with clients for her sound advice and exceptional client service. As an attorney, Lauren understands the importance of building and maintaining corporate and private client relationships.

She is a Young Fellow of the Frick Collection in New York and a member of the New York State Bar Association’s Entertainment, Arts and Sports Law Section. She is admitted to practice law in New York.

These professional and educational experiences provide the optimum background for an art consultant: Lauren has both the fine arts training and the professional skills necessary to optimally serve her clients’ interests.
